Access for All Abilities

The Access For All Abilities (AAA) Program aims to build the capacity of sport and recreation sector to provide participation opportunities for people with a disability. Through working in collaboration with sport and recreation providers, providers are then able to increase their capacity to respond to the needs of people of all abilities.

The AAA Program provides sport and recreation providers with an opportunities to develop smarter club development practices as through the development and delivery of accessible and inclusive sport and active recreation, many providers have not only opened their doors to people of all abilities, but have also developed a smarter business practice for their club or organization.

Program Purpose:
To build capacity of the sport and recreation sector to provide participation opportunities for people with a disability

Program Outcomes:
Increase the number of sport and recreation groups and activities available to people with a disability

Program Objective One:
Promote awareness of the benefits of active participation and provide support for inclusive sport and recreation environments

Strategies:
Promote a positive culture of inclusion amongst the sport and recreation sector and support the sport and recreation community to enable them to provide inclusive, active participation opportunities

Outcomes:
A Culture of inclusiveness

Program Objective Two:
Influence the planning and development of accessible and inclusive sport and recreation environments, programs and events

Strategies:
Engage with local government in the development and modification of sport and recreation environments Develop partnerships with local community providers in the planning and development of inclusive sport and recreation programs and events

Outcomes:
Access to inclusive and sustainable facilities and activities

Program Objective Three:
Foster and develop partnerships to enhance access and inclusion in the sport and recreation sector

Strategies:
Facilitate active links between stakeholders to increase accessible and inclusive sport and recreation opportunities Actively participate in networks that will further develop inclusive sport and recreation opportunities

Outcomes:
A cooperative approach to the development of an accessible and inclusive sport and recreation sector
