History of ERLS

Our program has over 35 years experience in working with our communities to tailor sport and recreation opportunities that are accessible and inclusive to all members of our community.

Prior to 1997, a number of programs in the Eastern Metropolitan Region were working toward a common goal of increasing participation opportunities for people who experience disability, their families, friends and carers. Two of these organisations were Recreation and Integration Development Inc. (RAID) and Knox Community Leisure Services Inc. (KCLS) whom later amalgamated in year 2000 forming Eastern Recreation & Leisure Services Incorporated (ERLS).

The amalgamation collaborated quality resources, a broad knowledge base and experience into the one organisation, ERLS. ERLS built on these assets to create the organisation that services our sport and recreation communities today.
